Why the equals sign?

Because it's not a declaration — it's an invitation.

A flag plants a position. An equation asks a question. We wanted something that makes people think before they answer, and feel something when they do.

America = doesn't tell you what to believe. It asks what you already do.

 

Who wears it?

Veterans and civilians. Teachers and founders. People who love this country loudly, and people who love it the complicated way — because they know what it could be and aren't done yet.
